Accelerator Programme is Full Steam Ahead!

Nick Pattison —

OJCs Accelerator Programme led by Learning Designer Nick Pattison is gaining momentum in its second Term.

The past two weeks have been very busy for the student in the Accelerator programme.

Jershon, Toni and Emma organised a water robot competition for local schools to learn about buoyancy, submarine mechanics and more importantly having fun!

April and Xavier visited King’s College to meet with an architect teacher in order to discuss their design ideas for a shelter to be built on Ngai Tai’s reclaimed island so that students can store their bags and have shelter in poor weather.

Shivi and Harleen worked with world renown maramataka expert Rereata Mahika to redesign a dial to calculate maramataka for students and they will be running a workshop to teach teachers how to use the dial at the Auckland Social Social Association yearly conference on September 8th.

Aryan, Shawn and Diya have been developing a augmented reality app to make the MOTAT tram experience more immersive and engaging and they recently visited the facility to test and gather more information.

The programme has been in the news as well;
