Within my role as Learning Assistant as part of the Inclusive Learning Team at Ormiston Junior College; I enjoy supporting our students in their individual learning; incorporating aspects of Science & Graphics as well as Sustainable Design.

Previously I’ve worked with a number of different Auckland based schools including our neighbouring Ormiston Senior College; where I worked with a high health needs student and explored the feasibility of school based STEM projects.

We are also nurturing the growth of a scented garden bordering our school’s vegetable garden; with jasmine and two types of lavender; commenced by one of our foundation students last year; with garden sculptures to follow suit.

In the words of Whitney Houston: ‘I believe the children are our future’ and have high hopes for this new generation coming through. To play a small yet vital part in our students lives is a privilege.
