Fred Strickson-Pua | Learning Designer
My family links are truly an Aotearoa migrants story (I come from Chinese, English, & Samoan ancestry).
I grew up in central Auckland, son of a community Social Worker and a Teacher of English to second language speakers. My passion is community development and empowering families.
I arrived at Ormiston Junior College care of Alfriston College where I was Head of Independent Learning and Community partnership mentoring. I have a BA majoring in Social Sciences and have a real belief in this being the true connector of all learning. I have experience working within an innovative, collaborative learning environment developing integrated learning.
My home is kept vibrant and full of life by my four children. I am a huge basketball fanatic with a love of visual creativity such as photography and videography. I also dabble in songwriting and have worked for the New Zealand music commission teaching composition in schools.
My excitement for Ormiston Junior college is the unique opportunity for the rigour of academic excellence to meet the responsive teaching and innovation of the 21st Century.
