Choir

Mouctika Chayanam, AURTB —

Following the debut and significant successes of the OJC Choir in 2018, conductor, Jen Woo, is proud to be taking the choir to the annual ‘Big Sing’ festival in June at The Auckland Town Hall.

Currently, the choir is practicing the songs ‘Become Yourself’ by Vicki Tucker Courtney and ‘Mister Nobody’ by David Hamilton. We train our vocal chords hard with rehearsals every Thursday afternoon from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.

We have over thirty members in choir, ranging from Years 7 to 10. We are accompanied by Sean Park, our pianist and OJC specialist music tutor for keyboard, and we are proud to have our student accompanist Ezekiel, who assists Sean with the piano. The hard work continues into the holidays, what with only two months left!

We were extremely excited to be performing at the end of Term 1 Celebration Assembly, where we had the opportunity to show off our talent. We will be preparing our third song - Best Day Of My Life by band American Authors in the holidays as well.

We are thrilled to be going off into the holidays with songs to practice and lyrics to memorise. We are looking forward to competing at Big Sing!
