Amanda Tait | Learning Coach (part-time)

Ormiston Junior College - February 25, 2018

Kia ora koutou, I find joy in the learning that occurs as a teacher. Being amongst individuals who bring their own knowledge and ‘flavour’ to school everyday provides me with true happiness.

My initial BA was in Social Sciences and I started my career in Human Resource Management with a few breaks in between for another passion of mine: travelling. From living in Sweden and Korea and connecting with a range of people in many other countries, I realised my joy and switched my career to teaching.

I have taught most curriculum subjects from years 3-8, have been head of digital literacy at Reremoana Primary in Wattle Downs and am still actively involved in cultural groups with these learners; myself learning more from the children everyday.

On a personal level, I live in Glenbrook with my partner Te Ariki, daughter Julia and gorgeous dog Indy (he’s a boy! Named after Indiana Jones) and, rain or shine, we spend most of our time enjoying NZ’s AMAZING outdoors.

I am thrilled to be a part of the OJC journey, excited to see learners thinking for themselves, challenging themselves and being truly kind to one another.
