English Language Learning at OJC
Learning a new language as an addition to their home language can be daunting yet many students at OJC have embraced the challenge of learning to listen, speak, read and write in English.
Knowing the learners - their language and experiential background as well as their home language proficiency - is the basis of our programme which also includes providing multiple opportunities for authentic language use in everyday and academic settings. Small group work allows for personalised learning, peer-related tasks, extended practice and building confidence to engage in other areas of the curriculum.
