1st OJC Junior Touch Team

OJC attends Counties Manukau Rugby Touch Tournament.

On Tuesday ____ some students represented the OJC in tag including myself. This tournament was hosted by Counties Manukau Rugby League, there were two pools and two comps a boys and a girls. In the first two games, we didn’t communicate to well together in the first game and that was an area we wanted to improve on in the second game. We wanted to use the girls more where there were hidden talents that we could use more.

In our third game of the day we had a breakaway that started of with Shaval getting a breakaway and then getting the ball nearly to the other side of the pitch and then spreading it back out to the right where Rudi flicked it on to Dallas who barely caught it before he passed it to me for a try in the corner, at the end of the game we felt although we didn’t win we played better than the previous games.

The next game Michael appointed a captain because it was a necessity, and following that the team won three in a row but only to barely lose in the last game of the day. The outstanding players of the day were Aniea who was our defender and Shaval who showed the boys in the other teams that she came to play.
