Alicia Tapu-Tauiliili | Kāinga Designer (Whetū) & Languages and Multi-literacies Designer
Mālō le soifua, my name is Alicia Tapu-Tauiliili and I come from the Samoan Villages of Pu’apu’a, Iva and Lotofaga, where I was honoured to be bestowed the Chief Title - Musuiaigaatoa.
I come from a family of Teachers and Educators - so it was only natural that I followed in their footsteps.
I am married with two children, Jameson (JT) and Louella-Jennifer (LJ).
A Baradene Alumni that majored in English and Samoan Language with experience in Pastoral Care, it has always been important for me to impart a love for learning in all our students whilst nurturing and ensuring their safety and well-being.
As a first generation New Zealand - born Samoan, I have always valued Identity, Culture and Family. Being a part of Aotearoa and holding steadfast onto our traditions as well as acknowledging and respecting the tangata and whenua in which we live - I believe, is the very essence of what makes our beautiful, multicultural country, home.
With 15+ years of experience, I hope to have shared these core values with learners I have had in the past, our OJC Learners in the present and all future learners yet to come.
Soifua ma ia manuia.
