Sending Love - Writing Letters to the Elderly this Christmas
Lots of our learners here at OJC celebrate Christmas in one way or another. Many of our learners therefore jumped at the chance to share some love to lonely elderly this Christmas.
Sending Love was the brain child of Aucklander Hannah Rodgers, who upon hearing that there are some 16,000 elderly that consider themselves lonely at Christmas decided to do something about it.
OJC was proud to offer our community a drop box. Many of our learners as well as students at our neighbours Baverstock Oaks Primary wrote cards to those lonely elderly. The drop box was picked up on Friday 15th brimming with cards and well wishes.
We wish to thank everyone who contributed to the drop box and helped create a few smiles this Christmas.
