LOCKDOWN PRACTISE
The Oromahoe School Board is committed to providing a safe and caring environment for staff and students. We have lockdown procedures which we review annually and a plan that responds to a perceived or actual threat to our school community.
A lockdown would be used anytime students need to be contained and protected inside school buildings. Events of this nature could include; chemical spill, gas leak, an intruder alert or due to an incident in the local community.
This week we practised a lockdown. Like we have fire drills it is also important we have emergency lockdown practice to ensure our students are aware of procedures if we ever need to go in a lockdown situation. The practice was for approx 15 minutes. Everyone did extremely well and responded to instructions as expected. Thanks to Jack R6 for making the procedure chart for each classroom.
The updated procedures will be on school docs and emailed out to the community.
