World Maths Day at Oromahoe School

Kathy Proebstel —

Last week, Oromahoe School celebrated World Maths Day in style! It was a fun-filled day where students got to show off their math skills and have a great time doing it.

The highlight of the day was a school-wide math competition. Students from all levels took part, solving tricky math problems. It was exciting to see kids from different year levels working hard and having fun with numbers!

There were cool prizes for the winners! But remember, everyone who took part was a winner because they all learned something new and had fun doing math.

At Oromahoe School, we know that math is a way of thinking that helps us solve problems in everyday life. During World Maths Day, students got to:

- Think like mathematicians: Using logic to solve puzzles

- Talk like mathematicians: Explaining their answers to friends

- Act like mathematicians: Working together to figure out tough problems

Math is important because we use it every day. When we go shopping, play sports, or even cook a meal, we're using math! World Maths Day helped show students how math can be fun and useful.

Remember: Math isn't just about getting the right answer – it's about the journey of figuring things out.
