On Wednesday 10th of August Oromahoe school had a Book Character Day. Book Day celebrated the opening of the new library. The ‘old room 3’ became the new library and the ‘old room 4’ became a performing arts room.

First the teachers, parents and students headed down to court and all of the classes paraded around to show off their cool costumes. People from the same book themes got called to have their photos taken. There was even a dance off and Micah won.

Then everyone went inside and watched a movie that room 1 had made. After room one's movie the winners of the best costumes were called out and those winners were; Ada as the Queen of Hearts, Coby as Cat in the Hat on Vacation to Hawaii and Jacinta-Lee as Puss in Boots. Then after the winners had been announced each class got their books that they had been writing in class and buddied up with someone in another class. Room 6 read their stories to the kids in room 3 and they really enjoyed them.

Book day was fun and I hope our school has it again for others that are new or who will be coming to our school.
