Matariki Celebration

As a fun way to end the term we are holding a "Matariki Kite Afternoon".

To bring in te mātahi o te tau (the new year) we are having a fun kite making and flying afternoon on Wednesday 1st of July. We would like to invite any whanau members who would like to join us from 1.30pm for kite flying with us. Bring a kite from home -homemade would be especially special and fly it with the kites our kids have made during the morning.

The timetable for the day is 

8.45-10.30 Normal class programme

Morning tea 10.30

11.00 - 1pm Matariki storytelling and (manutukutuku) kite making in houses.

1pm - Lunch Sausage sizzle and Hot chocolate (order through Kindo)

1.30 - 2.30 Whanau join for Kite flying, kite repair, kite fun.

2.30 pack up/regroup in own classes before hometime

If you have any natural products such as bamboo, twigs, toitoi, feathers or products we can recycle like paper bags, plastic bags, decorations for kites could it be bought to school Monday or Tuesday next week. We will have some kite resource bins for dropping these items into.
