A team of 10 students travelled to Cardrona Ski Field for the Otago/Southland Schools Ski and Snowboard Championships which were held on Monday.

We had glorious weather and great snow although the boys tell me there was enough ice on the course to make things fast and challenging.

Our young snowboard team has earned some valuable experience competing against the senior students. Congratulations to Max Watt who took out the Men’s Individual Ski Banked Slalom competition with a well-earned gold medal. Otago Boys’ Team One won gold in the Men’s Team Ski Banked Slalom. Congratulations to Max Watt (captain), James Watt, Oban Hansen and Tom Howie for a great team performance.

Every one of the boys skied hard and deserve the great result.
