Biotechnology studies in Year13 include Biochemistry techniques such as DNA extraction, running gels to separate DNA fragments by size and use of plasmids cut using restriction enzymes.

Here  students are loading gels to run on equipment kindly loaned to OBHS Science students by Andrew Cridge and Peter Dearden of Genetics Otago and Otago University Biochemistry Department.
