School Haka
This original school haka was received with ‘vigorous applause by the boys to show their approval’ (1909). It has since had several changes.
In 1928, it was edited by W W Bird, a Maori scholar. In 1996 the recent edition was edited by Mr Kerry Cameron, father of Keith Cameron, 1st XV captain at the time.
It is taught to all Year 9s, performed by the 1st XV before traditional matches and performed by the entire school on special formal occasions.
