The process.

All Year 11 and 12 students have received two emails informing them how to apply for The Gateway Experience in 2022.

To do Gateway in 2022, an application is required. A reminder for your son to send me an email if he wishes to apply and be considered for Gateway 2022.   jacqueline.irving@obhs.school.nz

He will be sent an invitation to a Google Classroom named - Apply for Gateway 2022.
He needs to complete the Applying for Gateway 2022 Google Doc and hand it in via Google Classroom. (This must be turned in or it will not be considered.)

Applications are required by Friday, 1st October.

The panel selecting Gateway students will have access to all applications over the holiday period to consider before meeting next term. Should the panel need to interview your son, this will take place at the end of week two next term when examinations have finished.

If your son ticked Gateway on the Subject Selection Portal on Kamar, he needs to go back and choose another subject as this should never have been on the selection list and will be ignored. If he ignores this instruction and does not select an extra subject, he may miss out on getting the subject he wishes to do.

I am available in Room 13 at lunchtime on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th September to support your son with his application. I work alongside the students chosen by the panel for Gateway to match students with host employers in their chosen industry and facilitate learning from Unit Standards to gain learner NCEA credits.
