Greetings everyone. I trust you are all settling well into a new year at Otago Boys’ High School.

2018 has started with some exciting news for our school. The Board of Trustees has entered into an arrangement to utilise a property on Melrose Street, neighbouring School House. This will allow us to house our new Director of Boarding and his family, in a quality home adjacent to the hostel. Access to the property will also enable us to create a new hostel entrance and parking area, significantly enhancing the aesthetic of our boarding facility. It will also create further space for boys’ recreation. These changes will allow us to create long term benefit for our hostel boys and their families, as well as providing benefit for neighbouring properties.

This has come about following some remarkable generosity from our school community, Old Boys, and the Otago Boys’ High School Foundation. And it represents the beginning of a significant work programme designed to future proof our school, and benefit the education of our boys. We look forward to announcing ways in which our community can engage and support these developments moving forward.
