Ski Trip 25-27th August

Richard Roe —

A group of 29 students across all year levels enjoyed the slippery slopes of Coronet Peak at the weekend. An ominous weather forecast never actually eventuated and we were able to enjoy two full days of skiing/snowboarding in true spring conditions.

There was plenty of snow in good condition at the top of the mountain but the warm temperatures made for hard work negotiating the gathering slush on the lower slopes.

The boys were treated to a rare surprise on Sunday morning when instead of an alarm clock they were awakened by the bagpipes being played through their bunkrooms at 7am by Lodge Manager Pete Ganderton.

Skills and confidence developed quickly, and fortunately there was no major damage resulting from spills sustained during aerial manoeuvres or other high speed antics. The boys were a credit to themselves and the school, making for another highly successful trip.
