Water Polo success
Last night the B1 water polo team played in the final of the Otago Schools' Secondary Competition.
This up-and-coming team established an early lead with some fantastic goal-shooting and all players had their heads fully in the game from the get-go. Determination and passion were clearly visible in the play but the coach, Mr. Paul Wagner said that this was the best teamwork he has seen all term from the boys. The boys took every opportunity they could and shot for the goal with conviction. Passing and set moves were also excellent.
We were a few players down due to triathlon events and injury but some of the B2 players stepped up to sub in for this game and they certainly did not let us down! When asked, Mr. Wagner couldn't single any one player out but he was most impressed with the cohesion shown by the team as a whole.
The B1 team is normally Toby Orchiston, Luka Moir, Aleks Kivilevs, Zak Nagdee, Shamus Young, Blake Schofield, Henry Hodgson, and Toby Hill. Playing up from the B2 team for this final were Oli Jamieson, Caleb Wayne, Yusuf Nagdee, Luca Mirosa, and Neo Salomonson.
Well done, boys!
