Congratulations to Sam Hewson of Year 10 who this week was named the 2016 Nidd Realty Youth Innovation Award winner.

Sam has designed a small battery motor that trims the lawn edging with a blade while you mow.

He came up with the idea researching his Bronze Crest project in Science.

Sam received a trophy and a cheque for $2000 which he will use to build the next version of his prototype and take his invention to the next stage.
