This Week At Senior Assembly

Tony Gabbusch —

Senior assembly was a chance to reflect on the busy start to term two, why our foundations are to be valued and why we should aspire to personal excellence.

Guest speaker, Dean Spicer is the head of the ANZ Bank Capital Markets department. As an old boy, who attended from 1980 to 1984, his message was about the value of having the courage to be adaptable and use a positive mindset to make the most of your opportunities in life.

Many students received awards for excellence in cultural achievements and in sports, as individuals and team members.

Ben Mason, who leaves for several months to train as part of Aotearoa’s Junior World Championship Rowing Squad, presented a thoughtful Last Word on the personal skills needed to be happy in your life. His words struck a chord with many, underpinning the need for respect and honour in relationships to ensure that you do make purposeful and significant progress in your life.
