Bouldering

Alastair Campbell —

In Term 2 the indoor bouldering group has gone from strength to strength.

It has grown to 20 with several boys on the waiting list for Term 3. The boys continue to focus on improving their technique and the challenge of climbing harder and harder problems. While Tuesday is our official climbing day many are now climbing two or three days a week.

Recently, a third of the group competed at the Dunedin leg of the National Indoor Bouldering Series. All performed well, with James Hulyer being the standout. Mr Tim Adler and myself also took part. While none of our boys placed in their respective divisions all enjoyed the experience. Most importantly, Mr Adler still managed to beat all the boys, by count back!

It is a real pleasure to see boys participating in one of the many extra-curricular opportunities we offer here at OBHS.
