School House News

Matthew Markham —

The weather was outstanding and the snow plentiful for the School House ski trip on Saturday.

With the Remarkables ski field surprisingly quiet the boys really did have a great day skiing. Apart from a broken collarbone, from a jump gone wrong, the inaugural School House ski trip was a great success. A big thank you to Mr Matt Brown and housemaster Marty McKenzie for giving up their weekend to make the trip possible. It was also great to see many parents up on the ski field skiing with their sons.

With the ski trip and senior exams this week we have a busy end of term. While the exam period started last Thursday, this week sees many of the big exams such as English. I am sure that come Friday the boys will be well and truly looking forward to a break!

Yesterday Cibus started their contract at the hostel with brunch and dinner. Both meals were well received by staff and students and we were impressed with the very friendly and professional attitude of their staff. Next term, if you are in Dunedin please come along to dinner and try it out for yourself, I am sure you will be impressed.

This Friday we have an action packed last day of term with the boys packing in the morning, hostel parent teacher interviews and then the Hostel vs Day boys league match.

Next term the Mitchell Cup competition comes to an end with touch and pit cricket. With Thomson on 18 points and Campbell on 17 it promises to be an exciting finish.

Have a great two weeks and I look forward to seeing everyone next term for the final few weeks of the school year.
