Shooting success continues

Jacqueline Irving —

Year 11 student Johnathon King won the Junior trophy at the Wanaka Clay Target Club last Sunday.

He didn’t have the best day overall using a borrowed gun with a block of wood taped to the barrel as a rear pin. All his DTL disciplines were average due to this.

Johnathon competed in Midis, Double Rise, Single Rise, Points Score and Single Barrel.

However, Johnathon did place 1st equal in C Grade Skeet with a score of 22. It was a small field of 25 shooters, and he was the only junior involved.

This is a great example of perseverance which is one of our key values at Otago Boys' High School. Johnathon has had a great first season as part of school and intercollegiate clay target shooting. It is great to see boys follow their passions beyond school.

We look forward to having Johnathon represent our school at events in 2023.
