The Number Pi

Richard Roe —

9T spent their Mathematics lesson this morning finding out for themselves the value of the number pi.

They measured the circumference and diameter of a variety of circular objects, including a bike tyre, car hubcap, plastic plates, frisbee, compact disc, etc. The value of pi could then be calculated by dividing the circumference by the diameter.

Results came out pretty close overall with just a few cases where a little accuracy was lost in the measuring process.
