This past weekend saw our Elite Senior Debate Squad lock horns with Schools from throughout the Otago/Southland region in the annual Russell McVeigh Regional Debate Competition.

The boys performed fantastically well over both Saturday and Sunday in a battle of both style and substance, coming away with deserved victories against Taieri College, Logan Park, John McGlashan, Kavanagh and Southland Girls' and close defeats to other schools as well.

Our debaters for the weekend were: James Williamson, Sam Hewson, Colby Allen, Kelvin Weston, Bailey Cavanagh-Welch and Sam Thompson.  

Great job boys, bring on the winter interschools!

On a really positive note, one of our Year 11 debaters, Colby Allen, was selected from all attending schools this past weekend to be part of the Otago/Southland Regional Development team. Congratulations Colby on an outstanding achievement!
