Congratulations to Daniel Visser and Aaron Nelson who competed in the Robocup Junior New Zealand National finals last weekend.

Daniel, a Year 10 student and Aaron from Year 9 were among 130 contestants from across New Zealand who competed in three categories - soccer, search and rescue and theatre.

Daniel and Aaron placed second in the Premier Theatre Division having created a two minute talent quest where Bloom (a blue furry robot) announced performers including a dancing robot called Shakey.

After some problems during rehearsals, the performance where Shakey and the boys danced to songs including Moves Like Jaggar, Roar and Stayin' Alive went well.

The boys were amongst eight recipients to be awarded the University of Otago computer science programming prize.
