For the sixth time in the last seven years the OBHS First XI has won the Otago/Southland title to qualify for the NZ Finals to be held in December.

Played at Tonga Park over Anniversary weekend, the 1st XI produced two top notch performances to convincingly defeat Southland Boys' High School and  John McGlashan on successive days. The high standard of play shown by all of the team members was a continuation of the form that saw the 1st XI unbeaten in all interschools this year.
