Brain Bee Competition for Inspired Year 10 students!

Pru Casey —

Registrations are now open for the 2020 Brain Bee Challenge!

The brain is our final great frontier for exploration and the Australian and New Zealand Brain Bee Challenge is an exciting competition for high school students in Year 11. But Year 10 students need to start their learning now!! The Brain Bee Challenge is an opportunity to learn about the brain and its functions, neuroscience research, careers in neuroscience, and to dispel misconceptions about neurological and mental illnesses.

How will Brain Bee work in 2020?

Students progress through a series of rounds:

  • Round 1 will be conducted in our school using EP.
  • Round 2 is held at the State level (Australia) and at the Island level (NZ).
  • Round 3 is the National finals - this is held at the annual meeting of neuroscientists from Australia and New Zealand, the Australasian Neuroscience Society!

The winner and their parents will be invited to attend the International Brain Bee Challenge. One of our students could be the Brain Bee World Champion for 2021!

When does the Brain Bee competition take place?
Round 1 of the 2020 ABBC/NZBBC Competition will take place in March. You need to register with Ms Casey at school and start learning - you will have an interesting summer ahead of you!
