Last Thursday, our Pacific Island boys were invited to attend the annual university welcome to new Pacific students.

The annual welcome was hosted by the University of Otago leaders to officially start the new academic year, and to welcome new students to Otago. Both new and returning Pacific students and their families were invited to attend. The official address was given by Professor Harlene Hayne, the Vice-Chancellor.

The boys heard from university leaders, met up with some old boys and were treated to a performance and welcome from the Otago Pacific Performing Arts Group! It was a great opportunity for our boys to hopefully get some ideas around what resources would be available for them in the future.

The night ended with an invitation to attend the dinner which was provided by the University and the Pacific Island Centre and held in the University's student dining area.
