In preparation for the Vettori Shield competition in early December, our Premier Colts cricket team played in a one off 50 over white ball game at Christchurch Boys' on Monday.

Losing the toss, our boys bowled first and eventually bowled Christchurch Boys' out for 182 with Luke Ritchie taking 5 for 20 and Harry Bezett (2 wickets) and Alfie Omelvena-Flame (3 wickets) picking up the rest. 

In reply our boys were seriously wobbling at 36 for 3, until Toby McLean (24) shared in a 48 partnership with Ollie Turnbull. Following this Ollie and Ashton Hansen both scored 62 not out each to see our boys home for victory by 6 wickets with 9 overs to spare. A wonderful game and a great victory. 

It was a great honour to play on Christchurch Boys' number 1 wicket. Thanks to them for being great hosts. 

It is now time to keep working hard and bring the Vettori Shield south in December!
