It has been an extremely busy week for the OBHS choir members. As well as performances at OBHS and OGHS, on Sunday, we got back from Timaru after competing in the inaugural South Island Cadenza choir competition. The bus was full of members of the OBHS choir, the OGHS choir, and the combined boys and girls choir.

Last words are a funny thing. Over the last two and a half years I have heard a lot of last words and forgotten most of them.

This week’s Senior Assembly offered variety and interest aplenty. To celebrate International Week, year 13 students Kehan Jiang and Morry Moriyama spoke to us about what they had learned and gained from their experiences as international students. It was great to hear about how much they had grown in confidence over the years.

My name is Ben Mason, and over four months ago I was selected into the Junior Men’s Quadruple Sculls to compete in Tokyo at the 2019 Junior World Champs.

On Tuesday night the annual Otago History Teachers' Association quiz was held at Otago Golf Club.

As we headed off for the Outdoor Education Ski trip on the morning of Sunday, the 17th of August, all 28 of the boys were fizzing.

Rob Wither is our newly appointed Guidance Counsellor, he is a full member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (MNZAC), and has recently joined us from Wellington College, where he was the HOD of Counselling for the past five years.

I am a boy from a small town in South Otago and have always loved the outdoors and want to pursue a career in building.

Last weekend, James Gardner and Ronan Melville contested the Under-14 Teams section at the New Zealand Secondary Schools’ Duathlon Championships.

The OBHS Lodge, enjoyed by thousands of OBHS students over its 42 years in operation, will be available for families of OBHS boys to stay in for a short time again this summer.
