This week, in assembly and around the school, we focused on 'looking after your mates'.

This week we have had the pleasure of hosting the 2017 Otaki Scholar Fraser Cowie. 

On Friday last week, Matthew Robinson (13 Business Studies) as part of the 2017 Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) had the opportunity to travel to Wellington to compete in the Entrepreneurs in Action (EIA) weekend.

OBHS hosted the OSTA Year 10 Science quiz on Monday evening. Nine teams hotly contested the coveted trophy, competing in teams of four to answer questions from every aspect of the Year 10 curriculum.

On Thursday night we had 20 senior boys compete in the annual regional mathematics competition, the O'MAthalon.

We welcome our four new German students who are here until the end of the 2017 academic year. They are particularly interested in experiencing the New Zealand outdoors and will soon go on the ski trip with their Outdoor Education class.

The Theatre Sports team is in serious training before the Regional semi final on the Fortune Theatre's main stage. Support our boys on September 27 at 1pm up against St Hilda's and Bayfield to fight to the final!

The 15th of July saw Oscar Black and I (Shay Thom) set off on the journey of a lifetime to play in the SuperCup, a tournament in Northern Ireland for Under 17 teams worldwide. 

Last weekend saw two vans with trailers and chains, 13 boys and 3 adults depart from Dunedin, bound for Wanaka for the Otago/Southland Secondary Schools Ski Championships. 

It was great to have Carmel Leslie working with our High Performance Sports classes this week putting the boys through their paces in core stabilisation and pilates based exercises. The boys also learnt valuable recovery strategies associated with international gymnastics and how best to activate muscle groups.

The Otago Boys' High School Parents Association has been given the opportunity to sell the ‘Dunedin Fonebook’ as a fundraising venture.
