A significant achievement for many boys this week was receiving their centurion badges. For Year 13's, who were the first to get them this year, the badge is doubly powerful. Not only does it represent a strong academic year, but that they have achieved highly over their five years with us.

At Otago Boys', we are a team. All of us: teachers, juniors, seniors; are a part of each others journey, and I would argue are a crucial part to each other’s success. Whether we done the hoops, or a PE top, a grey shirt or a blazer, we are all part of the same school, the same brotherhood, the same team. Boys in your five years of being in this team you will learn about many things, but most importantly you will learn about yourselves.

This morning at senior assembly the Rector Mr Hall took great pleasure in awarding centurions' badges to Year 13 students.

Congratulations to Masyn Opetaia and Mamea Taimalie who this week were awarded with Otago Polytechnic scholarships.

Earlier this week our Maori and Pasifika communities came together for the inaugural end-of-year OBHS Māori and Pasifika Celebration Evening. This combined hui and shared feast was a chance for us to celebrate together the successes and achievements of our students.

It has been exceptionally busy in the woodwork room this week as our senior students complete their projects for the year. 

Our Year 12 students explore what happens when throwing rice and multilink cubes at a target and then measure the distance of how far away they land. Does it follow a classic bell shape? Normal distribution was the aim of the activity.

At the end of November twenty-five of our Year 10 boys will spend four days in the Catlins exploring, having adventures and undertaking a Science, English and Statistics project to kickstart their NCEA Level 1.

Earlier this term, our junior interschool touch team traveled out to King's to take part in their annual invitational tournament.

The Parents Association is pleased to offer the school community the opportunity to purchase the Sweet Enough cookbook.  The price of the book is $40.00 with $15.00 from each book sold going to the Parents Association.  A copy of the book can be viewed at the school office.

Southern Rugby Club 5th November at 2.30pm. 10 a-side rugby game between King's High School and Otago Boys' High School past and present players. Followed by a fundraiser in the clubrooms which includes an auction, raffles and spot prizes. The bar will be open with food available.  A gold coin collection at the game.

On Saturday 26th November the Leavers' Dinner will be held at Forbury Park Raceway at 6.30pm.
