The Otago Boys' Old Boys' Society held its annual Ambrose Golf Tournament on Friday 19th March at the Balmacewen Golf Club.

This morning the entire school and guests took part in our annual ANZAC service.

Over the weekend of the 19/20th of March, Hunter Burgess performed as part of the John McGlashan College Pipe Band which competed at the RNZPBA National Pipe Band Championships.

Last Thursday, a brave group of over 30 senior and junior students participated in a special “Shave for a Cure” event in the Open-Air Auditorium to raise funds for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand.

On Saturday 13 February 2021 an OBHS Old Boys team entered the annual Spartan’s 10’s rugby tournament held at Green Island Rugby Club.

Every year in late March, the NZSSRA (NZ Secondary Schools Rowing Association) holds a National Championship Regatta for secondary school rowing crews known as Maadi.

Last week our softball team competed in the South Island Div 2 Tournament in Alexandra.

The volleyball boys’ travelled to Palmerston North to compete in the National Volleyball Championships last week.

In beautiful weather the Christchurch Old Boys held their annual BBQ at the home of Bruce and Ruth Cooper, Sunday 14 February.

Over the past week the NZ Rowing Club National Championships were held at Lake Ruataniwha in Twizel.

On Tuesday 2 February 2021 the Otago Boys’ High School 1st XI played their first traditional fixture of the year against an invitational Old Boy’s XI in a 40 Over fixture on Littlebourne.

Volts limited-overs specialist Josh Finnie was named Dunedin club cricketer of the year at the awards ceremony at the University of Otago Oval.

The summer interschool between Otago Boys' High School and Waitaki Boys' High School was held in Oamaru on Wednesday 24 January.

The annual summer interschool between Otago Boys' High School and Southland Boys' High School was held in Dunedin on Monday and Tuesday.

At the weekend our school Lodge hosted a large wedding.

The entire cohort of 30 Year 9 hostel boys accompanied by 5 hostel prefects and 3 staff departed for our Mt Aspiring Lodge on Saturday afternoon. After refuelling at Subway Cromwell we made it to the Lodge in good time to get settled in before dark.

A massive thanks to Murray and Heidi Rixon who were so generous with their time and bee keeping knowledge this week.
