This week in assembly, old boy Steve Anderson (1974-78) spoke to the boys about the concept of their personal brand.

I was originally born in Scotland. This is my home country and where I spent my first 8 years of my life. This is something that I cannot be more proud of.

Recently, Kelvin Weston attended the Dunedin Secondary School’s “Talkfest”, an overnight camp where students from all over Dunedin meet and talk only German. Little did he know when he signed up that he would be setting himself up for an even bigger adventure!

At this week’s Junior Assembly our teachers gave a shout out to two young men who are finishing their terms on a positive and strong note.

In Junior Assembly this week we celebrated recent successes in activities outside of the classroom. Some outstanding efforts across a wide range of endeavours.

Last week in our Senior Assembly one of our staff-members, Mr Stewart Tagg shared his experiences with alcohol, as an old boy of this school and also as a young man growing up in Dunedin. Mr Tagg shared his stories with our boys and does so with our wider school community because of the belief that we need to start a conversation with our students about drinking and its consequences. Winter hits us all pretty hard. Cold mornings, darker days and the drudge of assessments might be challenging you and your son to stay motivated about future goals. One way we can look after our community’s wellbeing is just by asking.
