Junior curriculum week has created the opportunity for a range of students to get excited about their visual world. The Art room has been a hive of activity all week as a variety of groups grapple with their self-directed design problems and how to visually demonstrate their ideas. Two of these groups decided to explore the Dunedin ‘street art scene’ for inspiration.

 Biz4Taiohi - Inspiring Māori Student Futures

On Wednesday 6th July, four Year 12 &13 students Dan Ryan, Ricky Jackson, Mitchell Mahoni-Rae and Isi Tuivaga were lucky enough to be invited by the Otago University Maori Studies Department in conjunction with the Otago University Business School to take part in the annual ‘Biz4Taiohi’ course which is focussed at Maori students.

Pan Pacific Water Polo

There are a number of OBHS students representing Otago Water Polo at the Pan Pacific Water Polo tournament which is taking place in Auckland over the school holidays. This is the largest water polo tournament in the southern hemisphere and is played every two years with teams from New Zealand, Australia, the United States and South Africa participating this year.
