As a school there have been many things to celebrate this term.

This morning we held our annual ANZAC ceremony.

At assembly this week, our 2019 Term One Students of the Term were announced. This award recognises one young man in each year level who has lived our school values: Respect, Perseverance, Honour, Courage and Excellence. He is a student who has shown through his actions these values, not just his potential. This award, we hope, will inspire all our students.

On Wednesday night the school celebrated the awarding of the Summer Blues to our sporting teams and individuals.

The message I would like for you all to take home is the importance of facing your fears.

Old boy, Lloyd Maole, was a special guest speaker at the Pasifika homework club on Wednesday.

Congratulations to Matthew Bolter who won the "Spot the Teen & Match the Book" competition which ran in the library for the last few weeks.

Another futsal season has come to an end and while disrupted by School camps, withdrawals and sickness, most teams would consider it a successful one.

On Tuesday 9th April Otago Boys' 2nd and 3rd XV played host to Marist Ashgrove School from Brisbane.

I am pleased to announce the following calendar of events for our 150th reunion to be held at the school in 2021.

Parents of prospective boarding students for 2020, 2021 at all year levels and current parents of boarders at OBHS Hostel, are warmly invited to attend one of the following country visits to meet with Mr Richard Hall, OBHS Rector and Mr Matthew Markham, OBHS Director of Boarding.

The 2019 election theme is “Step forward for our schools”.

This week we have set up a new Facebook page called OBHS Hostel 150th Reunion. We will be posting regular updates regarding events and how to register etc.
