The anticipated move nationwide to Alert Level 2, and the subsequent, realistic regulations for schools is a positive end to the week.

We would like to announce our Term One Students of the Term. This award recognises one young man in each year level who has lived our school values: Respect, Perseverance, Honour, Courage and Excellence. He is a student who has shown through his actions these values, not just his potential. This award, we hope, will inspire all our students.

The classes of 9T and 9H Social Studies with Ms Hope have been learning about the New Zealand government and different government systems around the world during the first few weeks of distance learning.

While the country has been in lockdown there have been 14 international students and four housemasters staying at the hostel.

Watching the rain glide down the windows at home, my mind takes me back to those bad weather days hunkering down at Mt Aspiring Lodge, one of Otago Boys’ hidden treasures.
