Last week saw a small but very keen group of 10O boys travel to the OBHS Lodge for a week of fun filled activities.

I’ll be honest with you, when faced with doing my last word this week, I found myself struggling for a topic to speak on.

I hope you’re all having a fulfilling week so far and currently on track to achieve those goals you set earlier. Be it making a head start on internals, getting ready for upcoming tournaments, or being simply that 1% better … at least I’d hope.

It is with pleasure that we introduce the Leadership team for McIndoe House for 2024.

In Aspinall house assembly this week we recognised Year 12 student Liam Elder (AP2) as our student of the week.

9G spent the first half of the term focusing on the mechanics of letter writing. Their task required them to write to a friend encouraging them to take up a sport or hobby. Their writing needed to have an inspirational register, use colloquial language, imperative sentences and second personal pronoun usage.

The SSSI regatta was another outstanding success for OBHS rowers, despite some challenging rowing conditions on both Saturday and Sunday.

In the week 7 progress reports, you may notice changes in how we report assessment grades.

Some of our Year 11 students were asked to investigate what happens when you square a prime number greater than 3 and subtract 1.

Moana Pool played host to the highly anticipated 2024 South Island Long Course Championships from March 1 to 3, showcasing exceptional talent and fierce competition.

On Thursday, our Year 13 Biology students went on a trip to investigate the differences that human disturbance may have on the biota.

9O have been working on Geometry in maths class recently.

With only 3 days until the Otago Boys’ Talent Quest ‘24 auditions open, it is fair to say that everything is underway.

Ruie Hyslop was our only attendee at this year’s South Island Secondary Schools’ Triathlon Championships, in Oamaru.
