The Quiet Leader

Imagine you were given $1,440 per day, and were told that at the end of each day, whatever you didn't spend, would be taken off you.

For a good cause. Many of our students losing their hair to support the ‘Shave for a Cure’ to raise funds for the Leukaemia & Blood Cancer Foundation of New Zealand.

The night was dark, grey and cloudy as the walk drew to a close. All torches were off. Blackness surrounded us. The crunching, crushing and skidding of the stones as we rambled across the wet and muddy pathway was the only sound we could hear.

Jonty is a Year 13 student, currently on placement at Southern Motor Court Service Centre.

Last week OBHS old boy Samuel Wardhaugh spoke to a Year 10 class and senior students about his career path to date and the processes involved in joining the New Zealand Defence Force.

Last week OBHS 1st XV members Fausia Loulanting, Layne Opetaia and Mitchell Mahoni- Rae worked with the students from Kaikorai Primary School teaching them the fundamental movement skills associated with Rugby. Great work!

The countdown is on to the opening of our combined OBHS/OGHS 2017 production of Disney's High School Musical.

The school needs someone to research and compile reports on our historial school buildings and events.
