Academically the school is in full swing. This week we have had, in the main, an uninterrupted academic week for most students. This means our classrooms, the core reason for our existence have been the focus of staff and student attention.

In this weeks senior assembly we recognised over 100 students for their successes in NCEA and Scholarship examinations.

Wednesday saw the first interschool for the summer season with Otago Boys' heading to Timaru.

Building on what was a successful debate season last year, OBHS is entering three senior debate teams into this year's secondary schools and Russell McVeigh Regional competitions. Our boys are seasoned campaigners and are motivated for success this year. All the best!

World Read Aloud Day calls global attention to the importance of reading aloud and sharing stories. It celebrates the power of words and the right to literacy.

The 2017 Otago Secondary Schools Triathlon Champs were recently held in Cromwell.

The trophy is played for annually between Otago Boys' High School and Timaru Boys' High School in memory of Mark Parker, a former Timaru Boys' and Otago Volts cricketer who died tragically in the Bali bombing in 2002.  1st XI captain Max Chu accepted the trophy from the TBHS captain following the teams win in Timaru this week.

Recovery Room Physiotherapy runs a clinic at school from the Shand Building. Their three physios, Matt Carrington, Alex Gough and Thomas Wardhaugh are happy to treat all students.

Thank you to everyone who has contacted the school about donating goods etc. or helping at the Fair in April.

Extension resources for Science, Mathematics are now available to purchase from the school office. PE/Health resources will be issued by your sons teacher.
