Two Degrees of Separation
That moment when you find out one of your colleagues (AKA IT guru Dali Hoffman) is only two degrees of separation from some of Dunedin's greatest bands.
Dali's dad Brendan Hoffman is a bit of a legend in the music world.
He managed Dunedin's Volt recording studio in the 1990s, recording many legendary Dunedin bands. He was also tour manager for The Chills.
He's currently Director of Tour Management for artist management company tmwork based in New York City.
As a tour manager and sound engineer Brendan's worked with The Verlaine's, The Chills, Dimmer, King Loser, Bic Runga, Better than Ezra, Elliot Smith, Matthew Sweet, Old 97's, Everclear, Indigo Girls, They Might Be Giants, Heart, Kings of Leon, Chris Isaak, Brandi Carlile, Bassnectar, Diplo, Dillon Francis, Sturgill Simpson, Justice, Turnpike Troubadours and Major Lazer.
Nice to have a dad that can get you into some great gigs AND give you an excuse to visit New York!
"I've had the chance to visit the Big Apple a few times myself, indulging in some of the city's famous pizza, hotdogs, and, of course, enjoying a few beers/singalongs at some great concerts." - Dali
Near the end of last year Brendan was interviewed by Radio One about his work as a tour manager and sound engineer in New York . You can check that interview out here.

Or you can just go rub shoulders with Dali and be just three degrees of separation from some of New Zealand's Greatest bands.
