Grant Rounds - August and September 2020

Otago Community Trust —

Below is a quick summary of our recent grant approvals over the last two months.

August Grants Summary

The Otago Community Trust gave a total of $379,242 to 26 community organisations in August 2020. Paradise Trust was awarded a $80,000 grant to assist with further restoration work at the historic property, which is known for its exceptional natural beauty, situated 20 minutes from Glenorchy.

The small rural community of Clinton also benefited from Trust funding in August, with a $51,071 grant awarded to the South Otago Free Kindergarten to support the development of a new kindergarten and family hub in Clinton.

September Grants Summary

The Otago Community Trust gave a total of $347,309 to 22 community organisations in September 2020.

 A $140,000 grant will assist the Snow Farm with the cost of constructing the proposed new community and schools’ hut (“Musterers’’ Hut) planned for Tranquillity Basin, situated in the northern part of the Snow Farm. 

Several arts and cultural groups namely Artsenta, Ake Ake Theatre Company, Central Otago Regional Choir also received funding support for initiatives in the September funding round.
