Our Grantees - Waste Free Wanda

Melanie McAtamney —

Despite the madness of Covid-19 and all that came with it, it was great to read how successful the one-woman environmental rock opera Waste Free Wanda has been in 2020!

Waste Free Wanda is a one-woman musicial act that supports children to make positive choices around waste reduction.

Full of humour, catchy songs and an engaging storyline, this interactive show is a one-stop solution for educating communities on how to be the change when it comes to reducing single-use plastic on the planet.

In 2020 Waste Free Wanda reached over 8,000 children, 53 schools and went on 5 tours. AMAZING!

If you are struggling with New Year's resolutions this little video might just be the inspiration for you.

Otago Community Trust was pleased to be one of the many funders that supported this vitally important message. The Trust was pleased to award a $3,000 grant to Plastic Free Wanaka to assist with the cost of delivering this to a number of primary schools in Otago.
