Our Grantees - Lake Dunstan Trail

Crux —

The 54km Lake Dunstan Cycle Trail, between Cromwell and Clyde, is on track for completion at the end of the year. This great video by the Southern Lens team explores just how stunning and slightly scary the trail build has been.

The 54km, soon to be completed trail is part of the $26million New Zealand Cycle Trail Project, funded by the Government, the Central Lakes Trust and the Otago Community Trust.

The trail is the first of five projects that make up the $26.3 million, 536km Central Otago cycle trail development announced in May 2016 by then prime minister John Key.

The flat section of the Lake Dunstan Trail (from Smiths Way, north of Cromwell, to Bannockburn), - is already in use and proving very popular.

Take time to watch the incredible footage of the trails development and make sure you pop it on the 'to do' list over the Christmas period.
