Grant Rounds - June & July 2020

Otago Community Trust —

Below is a quick summary of our recent grant approvals over the last two months.

June Grants Summary

Otago Community Trust awarded a $180,000 grant to the Te Rauone Beach project in June. This grant will assist in the cost of constructing the groynes at Te Rauone Beach as part of the restoration project. Taieri Rugby Football Club received a $40,000 grant that will support the club’s renovations.

Aspiring Biodiversity Trust were awarded a $12,000 grant to support their ongoing Makarora Catchment Threatened Species project and the Waitaki Community Gardens Trust received a $5,000 grant to help with their community garden site development.

July Grants Summary

Otago Community Trust gave a total of $626,277 to 16 community organisations in July. A $400,000 grant was awarded to the Queenstown Lakes District Council, which will assist with the cost of building the new Luggate community centre. Carisbrook School received a $58,700 grant which will assist the school with investing in STEAM and digital equipment. A $22,000 grant was also awarded to the Hollyford Conservation Trust for the next phase of the Lower Hollyford ecological restoration project.
