Barbara Bridger —

Welcome to our July Newsletter. We hope you are all keeping warm after the polar blast that recently hit the region.

We are pleased to welcome a new member to our small team - Liz Harburg. Liz joins us as a Community Engagement Advisor and is looking forward to building meaningful relationships with key community groups and organisations from around Otago.

Liz moved to Dunedin from Brisbane in early 2019 with her young family and has fallen in love with what our magnificent region has to offer. Liz has worked in leadership roles in the not-for-profit (NFP) sector for 10 years in both Australia and New Zealand. We are delighted to have Liz on board.

The Trust was pleased to approve over $1 million in funding to Otago’s regional sporting bodies in June. This funding supports regional sporting bodies who are seeking to introduce and / or maintain programmes which encourage participation and development of their sport in Otago.

Please make a note in your calendar that our Annual Public Meeting will be held on the 17th of August, at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery from 4.30pm. The meeting is an opportunity to meet our trustees, staff and other community groups. You will also find out how the Otago Community Trust has served our community over the past 12 months.

Finally, I hope you enjoy reading this edition of our bi-monthly newsletter. As always should you have any questions regarding funding please feel free to contact me or any member of the Trust team, we are always happy to help.
