Registrations are now open for the 2022 Otago Community Trust New Zealand Masters Games in Dunedin.

Due to lockdown, the Dunedin team at the New Zealand Masters Games had to take the launch virtual last week.

About the Games 

The New Zealand Masters Games is the largest multi-sport event in New Zealand. Held yearly, the event alternates between Whanganui and Dunedin. The 2022 Otago Community Trust New Zealand Masters Games will be held in Dunedin from the 5th to the 13th of February 2022.

  • Games Office: Open to the public from Monday 13 September 2021
  • Earlybird Entry: 8 September 2021 - 30 November 2021
  • Standard Entry: 1 December 2021 - 11 January 2022
  • Final Entry: 12 January 2022 - Onward
  • Refunds Close: 13 January 2022
  • Games Check-in: 12 pm 2 February 2022

Earlybird Entries

Earlybird entries are now open. Earlybird entries are $70 per person and will run until the 30th November 2021

Are you a Loyal Master? This year there is a 10% discount on the Entry Fee to those entrants who have registered in the last two New Zealand Masters Games held here in Dunedin. Loyal Masters will be sent a single use discount code which must be used before the end of the Early Bird entry period on the 30th of November 2021. Please note this only applies to the Games Entry Fee and not the sports fees. If you have not received this discount code yet and believe you are eligible please contact the Dunedin Masters Games Office.

Competitor Age

The Masters Games is for athletes of masters age. Every sport is different with respect to the age at which athletes become masters. However you become a master at the age of 20 in swimming and generally become a master in most sports by the age of 30. With participants ranging from 18 to 95 and beyond there are opportunities to participate for everyone.

The Sports

With over 60 sports to choose from and more than 300 separate events, the Masters Games are for all sports people. From running to jumping, kicking to shooting, riding to swimming, where skill, accuracy, energy or just a willingness to give it a go – we have it covered.
